I'm sure that lowering the prices of cosmetics will have a positive effect as well only because of how economics works and having played other games with buyable cosmetics. Black Desert Online has costumes with stats that cost $30+ and I know many people who pay for them and many more people who find $30 (the original price of the game) outrageous and won't pay for them. Then on the other hand you have a game like League of Legends where the skins for champions were $5-10 for a normal reskin and $25-35 for a Legendary skin where it actually changed skill animations and I personally had 0 problems spending nearly $500 on skins during the 2 years I played and I know many MANY people who are like me and periodically bought Riot Points for the cheap skins or to instabuy a champion.

If they really want to make more money, then lower the prices of the basic cosmetics, Legendary tier costumes can be $25 that makes sense, they typically have special effects or animations that make them unique, but a simple hairstyle shouldn't be more than $10 for an extra fancy one. I would spend $20 minimum (1 per character slot) on 4 hairstyles, and would probably spend even more for hair colors for those hair styles, but I personally can't justify spending the same amount of money on a single cosmetic item that barely changes my appearance. I know for a fact (you can see all the posts) that I'm not the only person who feels that way. So they can either A) Ignore us and keep the prices the same, selling $25 hair cuts to the population of the game who doesn't care, or B) Listen to us and lower the prices of the basic cosmetics and sell them to a far larger majority of the population in far greater quantities.

TL;DR: People are more likely to spend money on more items than they are to spend an equal amount of money on one item.

I've played both Vindictus and Kritika and while I can agree that Vindictus has the best action combat system of any game to date, I still find Soul Worker more fun, mostly due to the fact that while Vindictus has amazing combat, the game is optimized like a toaster even on high end pcs. It's gotten a lot better recently, but it's still a laggy mess sometimes.

As for Kritika, I played pre-NA release and loved it. Played post-NA release and felt I was wasting my time.

Yeah its a business for that reason i'm saying no, these prices are very standard for this type of game anddd seeing as they took out the only basically arguable p2w items in the cash shop just now I think they need something to keep going lol.

But back on topic other mmorpgs (I use black desert as an example a lot but i guess I could also use closers now), closers has packs that are $120 dollars WITH stats that boost your character by a lot. As far as I can see I have no problem with outfits and hair costing $20ish dollars AS LONG as they keep the cash shop non p2w. Also I will state (I have said this before) that black desert online is a buy to play game with outfits that can cost up to $40.

Anyways TL;DR i'm fine with the prices since their pretty standard for this type of game lol.

While you're not wrong, it shouldn't be standard. As I said in the main post it's simple economics, you could have 100 whales buying 50 outfits each for 25 dollars per outfit and that's $125,000. If you had 150,000 players (SoulWorker had 208,136 players in the last two weeks) buy 2 items each for $15 total, that's $2,250,000. Let's lower that to a 5th of the players (41,627) spending $5 each, that's $208,135. What about a 10th of the player base (20,813) spending $5 each, that's $104,068. That's finally lower than the first example, which was already an extreme example. There's a higher chance of 20,000 people spending $5 each than there is for 100 people spending $1,250 each.

I understand this is a free to play game and you need to make money but the prices on some of these items are completely outrageous. To buy a hairstyle.... a HAIRSTYLE! Is 1850 SoulCash, it costs $20 to get 1800 SoulCash (that's WITH the 150% bonus), so you need to spend $25 minimum to buy a single hairstyle for a single character. That's completely ridiculous! Even Vindictus, known for being a notoriously bad cash shop, doesn't have prices this crazy.

I love buying cosmetics for my characters, I spent close to $500 (probably more!) in League of Legends back when I played just on skins alone! They cost $5-10 for an average skin, with the Exotic tier skins being about $20. If you lowered the prices of the cosmetic items to $5 for color/hair and $10 for outfits, you would sell so many more items to people who wouldn't justify spending $25+ on a single item but would justify spending $50+ on 5-10 items. It's simple economics.

And just to see how everyone else feels, I put a poll in.

I've always been a fan of games that let me either respec my builds for free or with in-game cash. It lets you try out new things, come up with fun and interesting builds, all without forcing you to lock into one thing or be afraid to experiment. I don't know if GameForge has the ability, but if they could somehow get us a system that lets us freely respec at will (or with in-game cash/materials) I'd be happy with that.

Great guide! I plan to play every character and this was really helpful in understanding Haru.

Three of the pictures aren't working properly. Advancement, Hysteria, and Awakening.

Also, do we know when we're getting the Advancements? Or are they already in?

I'm disconnecting and having server connections issues as well.

    My friends aren't though.

    It's weird.

This right here is why there's been maintenance. It's not like 100% of the playerbase can't play, it's a weird mix, sometimes people can get in, other times they can't. Some people are getting DC'd, others (like myself) aren't. Oftentimes the solution to one problem can cause another. Plus, this is why we have stress and server testing so we can make sure everything runs smoothly on full release.

I noticed this happens occasionally, I'll log into one of my characters, and when I log out to Character Select, all my characters are gone and I have to change servers and back or quit the game and reopen it for them to appear. Currently I'm able to resolve it on my end, just wanted to point it out.

Definitely not game breaking, a minor annoyance at best.

    Screen Shots for reference:

    Before Selecting a Character:

    After Logging Back Out:

You can see the Server is the same, but I can't prove anything other than that.

I'm not sure what you want from them. You asked them if there is going to be a wipe. Their answer was "If it's needed". That seems pretty obvious to me. There will be a wipe if, and only if, it's absolutely necessary, so don't expect there to be a wipe and they'll announce "Hey, we have to wipe the servers due to *this* reason. We're sorry for the inconvenience" if there has to be one. If I were in their shoes I wouldn't want to say "Yes, there will absolutely be a wipe" when there might not be, and I wouldn't want to say "No, there absolutely won't be a wipe" if there might be.

You want them to tell you "yes" or "no" when saying either of those things might take them out of the frying pan and into the fire if it ends up being misinformation. threea is handling this perfectly from a PR point of view.

When i try to put the game in Full windowed Bordeless, the windows bar appears.

This happens sometimes with other games as well. The easiest "fix" I've found was to open a random folder ("My Documents" for example), then open the task manager, select "Windows Explorer" and hit "Restart" where "End Task" would normally be. Then try tabbing out of the game and back in a few times after the taskbar appears again.

I plan to play one of every character with Stella being the one I primarily focus on at the moment. I might end up falling in love with one of the other characters and making them my main. I only tried Haru and Stella in the JP Version before it stopped letting me log in. I absolutely loved Stella though.

I don't doubt any of these pts. I agree they need to make money.

However I fall into the category that if you can buy items in a store that provide stat advantages over others it actually makes me spend zero not more...

I'm glad I asked these questions and this was talked about bc I had no idea. I thought the game didn't have this. Oh well always other games coming up...

No one said anything about buying stat advantages over other players though?

Depends on what you consider P2W, the main aspect of this game afaik is the PvE, not the PvP. So if you consider Paying for Convenience P2W, then sure the game is P2W. I, personally, don't. I do wish more games with a PvP focus would give static stats per level (every lv 20 has the same stats as every other lv 20) for PvP and rely on player/character skill instead of player gear, but that's just me.

Why is everything being done on Facebook when they could easily make a discord and @everyone the information, so that questions/answers can finally be resolved.

Probably because there are people like me that avoid discord like the plague it is.

But everyone uses Facebook because everyone in their family is as well as their friends.

No, actually not everyone uses facebook its the complete opposite, more people use discord cause its user friendly and effecient, it appeals more to the gaming community

I love discord, and I have used it ever since it was first being beta tested. It is suited more for players to hangout and chat then for news, updates, or announcements.

This is where proper management comes in. As a Discord Channel Admin, you can make a Text Channel called "Announcments/News" and limit it to only Admin/Moderators being allowed to post. Creating an easy place for people to see any news updates. The major problem that I have with Discord as a Forum service is how poor the text chat works at separating discussions. You can have 50 conversations going on at once in General Chat, where a Forum separates them out into topics. But as far as Guides, News/Announcements, Events, and stuff go, it's really easy to set that up efficiently and effectively if you know what you're doing. Here's an example of how the Chats can be organized:
